Dyenamo has over the years collected in-depth knowhow on the patent situation for DSSCs. This has made it straightforward for us to grasp the patent landscape for “perovskite solar cells”.
Activity in relation to DSSC patents took off seriously after the millennium. Today, the patent world for DSSC's and “perovskite solar cells” is difficult to overview. Many researchers and companies that are developing materials and products are unaware of the fact that they actually may work with technology, which has been patented by someone else. As we identified this problem, we decided to create a database for DSSC patents (described by Pettersson et al., Energy Environm. Sci. 2012, 5, 7376.). This has later on been expanded to include documents dealing with perovskite solar cells.
At present, the database includes more than 3500 patent families. This has been an extremely valuable tool for guiding the Dyenamo and CMD activities. The database has opened a possibility to direct our work based on the IP landscape and to strategically define our own patent strategy. Based on the database, we offer patent evaluation services such as:
